A mysterious humanoid species with an appearance resembling simplistic drawings. They share similar intelligence to humans, but are smaller in size, and are generally stronger and more athletic. Some believe them to be a type of monster as they often possess different unusual abilities similar to those of monsters, but the world doesn't really question it too much. There is typically very little body type variation among numa, but exceptions do exist; there are a few notable variations of height and build within the cast. This is the species that the playable cast and a number of major NPCs belong to.
Hometown of the main cast, situated in the Kusogaki continent. At the start of the story, it is almost empty due to past events, but restoration is in progress, and it can be restored over the course of the game. The official website describes it as a place of many memories, somewhere to return to.
A dark power originally belonging to the goddess of greed Deaēru, who threatened the world in the past. Having once been possessed by the goddess, Bachikin retained the ability to use the remaining power of darkness even after the goddess' death. The more this power is used, the more the user loses their sense of reason.
A type of mass-produced killer robot that existed in the past. How long they have existed, who created them, and the exact definition of the term are ambiguous. They are a kind of "Old Doll", a type of forbidden weaponry shrouded in many mysteries. Bachikin ordered their mass production while corrupted by the power of darkness, but these were merely replicas, different from the real thing that existed in the past. Their appearance commonly features a round body with bulky limbs and a distinctive facial expression. Despite all of them being supposedly destroyed by Bachikin and Sigkin after the incident, it is discovered at the beginning of the story that they are being manufactured again by someone else.
A "holy spell" of unknown details, invoked by repetitive chanting. It seems to be a type of recovery magic, of which many variations exist. Most playable characters have some variation of it in their skillset as a basic healing ability. (Given that it's Jack's particular specialty that he apparently performs on a regular basis, it can be assumed that this "spell" is... alluding to something else.)
A kind of liquid chemical. The most common variety of mazai restores MP when consumed, but there are many other types with various applications, including (but not limited to) healing of status conditions, strengthening of physical abilities, toxic varieties for contact damage in combat, and explosives. Different types of mazai are used in and created through various alchemical processes, so the basic variety is often purchased in bulk by alchemists. In previous versions of the game, the name was written in kanji (but has since been standardized to katakana), roughly translating to "magic chemical" - perhaps intended as a more clinical or official-sounding way of saying "potion".
Often rendered in all caps. The currency unit used in game. In earlier versions, it was simply written as "G" without an official name, but was later standardized.
(Note that the editor isn't quite sure how to translate the name.) An empire Bachikin and Sigkin founded in the past, during their whole stint with the powers of darkness. Many countries, monsters, and numa ended up following it. Otsukin, Koritora, Uie, and Axez followed them as well, forming a contract with the dark power.
(There is some disagreement on how to romanize this.) Formerly a country in the Osaru Desert, it was destroyed five years ago by Bachikin's empire and now lies in ruin, devoid of even monsters. In another continent, however, a city by the same name has sprung up practically overnight.
A megacorporation headquartered in Gapanese City specializing in the manufacturing of robots, weapons, and other electronics. It has seen significant growth in the past few years.
Thought not important to the story, these five rare stones are important to general postgame progression. They comprise the five rarest minerals that can be found in the game. In addition to selling for a high price, they can be used to upgrade weapons and equipment. They consist of "Deae Ruby" (デアエルビー), "Deae Sapphire" (デアエサファイア), "Taishoku Emerald" (タイショクエメラルド), "Sigma Sandolite" (シグマサンドライト), and "Menomaeni Diamond" (メノマエニダイヤモンド).
